Well it was bound to happen. I lost the little grommets that go into the end of my lower shaft the other night when I switched from the 8 inch coil to the stock coil. I dropped one of them and never even knew I had done it until I went to clean up my detector.

So I thought no big deal, I'll just call Minelab and they will tell me where to get new ones, Sandy always did that kind of stuff for me in the past. Well 4 emails and 5 phone calls later and I still don't have any replacements! :( >:(

Now I'm not expecting Minelab to cover my carelessness free of charge I just want the hardware and I'm willing to buy it. None of the sites I have gone to list the hardware seperate. This just irks me.

Fortunately Detector Depot is trying to help me out and I MIGHT get the hardware I need. Otherwise I will have to work something out. But it just stinks that a company parts company with a person who worked SO hard to keep their customers happy. Maybe if she was still there I wouldn't have to type this post.

I sent my detector (other Brand) to have checked out. I get a message on my cell telling me that it didnt have a scuff cover for the bottom of the coil. They didnt know if they had lost it or if it had even came with one. By the time I had received the message, it was too late to call them to tell them it didnt have one. THEY SENT ONE WITH A BILL!!!!! Now I have a scuff cover. Luckily they dont have my credit card number. I thought "the Gall" to send something I didnt ask for and then bill me for it. I didnt call them back. TMAN...

??? ??? ???..You can tell us what brand it is you are allowed we are hear for info not to guess ??? ??? ???

Okay going on TWO WEEKS now and NO call from Minelab and NO reply to my emails.

I am going to be buying a new machine soon and if they continue this type of customer service I think I may have to go Whites or Fisher on my next one. Sad really because I like the Explorer series.

But not if I cannot get support!

Try Rons detectors out of tennesee.
I have ordered shafts and washer for my mine labs from him before.

Does anyone know what happy to Sandy? And wasn't some other outfit buying minelab? Bill

??? ??? ???....I tried to call Minelab today and all i got was voice mail no matter what extension i put in tried 4 extensions and the operator and never did get to talk to any one??? ??? ??? ??? I did get through after a long time..........they said Sandy left Minelab.....................

Actually I was told by a little birdy that they let Sandy go. She didn't leave.

The company was bought out by an Australlian company. If you got to talk to someone you are doing better than me.

Sandy Burton was out sick for a while then came in & she was let go due to company downsizing. The big wigs were in the Vegas location about a week & a half ago. Sandy was not the only one let go that day.
Sandy Burton is pondering whether or not to open her own detector business or not. Sandy Burton is also good friends with the owners of Tesoro & that is another way to go as Sandy lives in Arizona I have not called her at home since then as She is an active person & goes out detecting a lot and YES others at the Vegas office think it was a mistake letting Sandy go.

On a side note: I just recently sent My Quattro to Minelab for repair & Minelab replaced the system board & threw in a new "Slimline" coil in for free!!Turnaround time Approx.2 weeks by the time it got to Minelab & back.

Well, Heidi left Tesoro a while back, so maybe Sandy will go to work for those fine people. I love my Minelabs, but it's hard to beat Tesoro's customer service, on top of being a great machine. Hope they come out with something new though. Need a new detector.

mastereagle22,

Kellyco carries the washers, they are called teardrop washers. I picked up 6 of them the last time I was there and put them in my suppies kit, along with the nylon bolts and nuts.

Here is one link on their website for them with the nylon bolt found at bottom of the page......

There customer service is the worse I have ever seen.
How do they keep repeat customers?
I will never by another one.

Well I am done messing with Minelab customer service.

8 phone calls and 10 emails and NO answer! I tried Kellyco but the person I talked to said that they didn't think the kit mentioned in the above post would work with an EXplorer. So I contacted Lynn at Detector Depot and they took very good care of me.

I like this company and I plan on working with them in the future.

I am not sure what the current problem is, but up untill a few weeks ago MInelab's customer service was top notch. They get repeat business because they make some of the best detectors available. I currently own 3 Minelabs.

I love the machines but I really don't think anyone has taken over where Sandy left off.

So the person they had that was doing such a wonderful job is gone and no one is doing the job she was.

That's what happens when companies let good people like Sandy get away.

I just got my ex cal.back from them and I must say when I emailed I was answered right away. Several times this happen. Maybe you have a bad email.

This guy was great try him

Exactly. Making some replacements from locally available hardware store materials ain't rocket science.

The quality of the nylon screws and bolts available locally just aren't heavy enough to use for detecting. I have tried they just snap off.

That is why I need heavier stuff or a better hardware store. Lowes is all we have around here anymore and they don't cary heavy duty nylon hardware. :(
