i need help identifing a coin.

Hi all, long time no talk, my nephew stopped by with a couple of coins from 1780 i couldn't find them on any of the coin sites i have checked. i thought some of the pros on here might be able to help.

these are restrikes of the original. there are called Maria Theresa talers. nice coins but not from the 1700s.hope this helps. Bob

As he said, this is restrike of the Maria Theresa thaler from Austria. The originals were struck in 1780 but the Austrian mint has continued making them into modern times, with the "1780" date "frozen". This means it doesn't have a whole lot of numismatic value, since there are millions of the restrikes out there, BUT it is still a silver coin, and they are nice looking. It's worth $7-10 or so.
