Hi there..I need some help on what I can use on the other 2 coins too clean them up more so i can see what they may be..I no one is a gaming token and not sure of the other and the lead hollow ball have no clue. Also the other silver coin which says on it white gold not sure what that is neither..I haven't had it tested too see if it is real white gold..So any help will be appreciated.I found this stuff at a house that was boarded up in by me in New Jersey..Did some research on the house and it was built in the late mid too late 1800's...So still not sure what any of it is and could use some insight on what they may be and how too clean them up with out damaging them... Thanks Jim...Also this is my first time out with my new whites m-60... Im shaking still...lol was so excited the coins were all with in 6 inches around the first plug I dug and were about 5 inches in the ground... Hope I can post these pics here goes...

Congrats on some interesting finds. You may get more help I'd you could post pics of both sides do the tokens/coins. As far as cleaning, I usually start with just a good water soak, and sometimes lemon juice if it's really something crusty.

It is my first time ever using a detector and had lesson from the store i bought it from. Then I watched the video and learned alot on here also and this was my first time out and found these things..Now the silver coin has the same pic on the other side double sided eagle it says on it united states of american in small print it also says in god we trust and on the bottom it says white gold...I will try to get a close and clear pic..I'll post in sec... Thanks Susan

Awesome finds for a first timer, now matter what they turn out to be!:hello2: At least you know your machine works!:icon_thumright:

Thanks Mrmackin..I have no clue what any of it is...lol I have it soaking in water now and see if they clean up better then try too take closer and clearer pics of them..Again I have no clue what any of it is..lol I'm trying I am a first timer.. 8-)

If it's silver, wet it and rub it with some baking soda with your fingers. Silver usually comes out of the ground untarnished. And as far as I know gold doesn't tarnish. So even though that token says "White Gold" I'd be surprised if it is. You can also try using a toothbrush with a little toothpaste....gentle, but abrasive enough to clean. Another option is to soak it in some lemon juice or vinegar for a while. Would like to see some better pics. I'm in NJ too in Bergen County if you want to get together for hunting tips etc. Nice job on the first finds! :)

I just had it soaking in water for little and took more pics and closer and clear shots.I just put them in whit still vinegar let them soak more..I'm posting them in a sec...

Nice finds what does the other side of the coin look like

Hi! I think they are all gaming tokens...they are not your "run of the mill" gaming tokens, they are interesting though I think they are 20th century....possibly mid to late-century. I'm sure some of the token guys will chime in. The silver colored one is very interesting.....did it come up as silver on your machine? My gut tells me that it's also a token and not solid silver or white gold, but I could be wrong. Regardless I think they are very cool finds and would display them proudly. I have some active flux paste for copper that I bought in England that would clean the copper ones back to new in a couple minutes -- it depends on what look you are going for....some like the dark brown patina. Let me know if you want to try it out.

You are off and runing just keep it up.
Nicc finds!

Yes it came up as +90 1 dollar silver ... Well what ever metal it is didn't rust like the other tokens and also has united states of america and in god we trust and say's white gold is weird and an eagle holding 3 arrows and what makes it even weirder it is the same pic on the opposite side.as you see in the pics side by side is one side and the other is the other side on each one.. ..lol I only did about an hr hunt if that..The massiqutos were so bad I didn't come prepared for the swarms of them...So I'm going back tomorrow with some deet spray on and do more hunting around the house and on the property..

Day 2 of research and still no luck on them.. Was up for like 4 hrs searching the web and ebay...found nothing...I am off too a gold and coin dealer see if he has any insights on what they were used for back in the 1800-1900's

I am thinking all are gaming tokens however the white gold I'm not sure about. Did it ring up as silver or pull tab? Cleaning: Usually start with warm soapy water soak for an hour to loosen the surface dirt, lightly brush away from center to outer rim. Second a hot peroxide bath can usually pull out some of the tight crevouses filled with dirt. Lastly, if it is a "good" coin I will soak in olive oil for up to a year if necessary.

Nice finds for your first time out...or any hunt, for that matter!

HH,
Anita

Any news on the silver colored coin with the "White Gold" inscription?

I just pulled a white gold ring two weeks ago and it certainly didn't tarnish like that. However, the game token from a Nevada Casino came out looking pretty much like yours. I'm in agreement with it being a gaming token and having little or no silver. A very nice looking find.
