I needed some help with diggin' this morning at the beach

Mild breeze at the shoreline in high 70's * made for an enjoyable 3 hrs. of detecting in dry sand at high tide.

Found "tons " of clads, a small Mexico silver pendant, and a surprise find of a 1918 silver "Rupee"..Type II, Calcutta mint.

( if you look closely at the obverse of this coin , you can see the CHAIN OF THE ORDER OF THE INDIAN ELEPHANT being worn by King George V; there is a tiny elephant at the bottom of this chain.

The small silver medallion is "paper thin" ..has initials in center, and a jeweler's marking ( Mexico )

Also sold my Garrett 1350 today; buyer drove into the driveway with a classy car.... I thought some of you might be interested in classic cars, so I took a couple of pics of it.

The owner of the "64 Mustang said that he had just purchased it in Pennsylvania...it was rebuilt "from the bottom up"

Thanks for looking

Lorraine

Cool finds!!

Should have taken the "Hold the metal detector towards the car as if you 'found' it" picture.

Nice clad count Lorraine. Sure is easier digging from the beach than from dirt. The car is sweet too. :headbang:

The silver Rupee you found is neat looking, but the "tang'
is nice looking as well. Are you going to try to spruce-up
the rupee to its former brilliance? If anyone can, it would
be you. Gold Nuggets :hello:

Gold Nuggets..thank you for your confidence in my ability to restore this coin....it looks like it would be an easy job, but my question is : would I ruin the value of the coin by doing so? I see them on e-bay for anywhere from $12.00 - $34.00

The coin is .917 silver content and weighs 11.09 gms.

I would love to see it shining, so probably I will clean it up and post a pic later.
