Hunted two homes built in the 40's yesterday. Both had pretty small yards, but I still managed 15 wheaties, just one silver Rosie and a ton of clad. The wheats were mostly from the 40's and 50's, but there were two surprises. One house yielded a 1918 plain, and the other a 1919S. I hit the 1919S with my screwdriver...I was at a spot where a car would have been parked and had dug about 15 clad dimes in a row...I was popping them with the screwdriver from a depth of an inch or two. Figured the 1919S was just another one and gave it a good gouge.
Every time I dug a clad coin, I just pretended I was with Treasurefiend, D-Dub and L4Seated and that I was digging barbers and indians...and I had a blast.
I normally do better than a 15wheat:1silver ratio, so I'm looking forward to my next hunt.
Thanks for looking.
