I dug this over the weekend. I have found Indian heads dating 1865 at this location and there was an old wagon road going past thru there. It measures. 38 cal, the casing is .42 long and the overall length is about .57. I did some research and from what I've read a .38 cal rimfire bullet with no headstamp dates 1860s to 1880s which is when headstamps became standard. Is that correct? Thanks for looking.
