Saturday my dad found his first silver quarter (1954). He has just started detecting, and I could not believe he was so lucky. It has been a long time since I have found silver. Well, today it was my turn. I set out to the house of a family friend with two missions in life. First to find silver, and second to find something older than 1900. Both of my missions for the day came true at one time. The second coin that I dug was an 1899 quarter. My last coin of the day was an 1887 indian head penny. I had almost given up finding anything other than junk in this yard. What a day. After I go take a nap we are headed out to a 200+ year old haunted house to dig some more...

What made this even better is my wife for some reason chose that minute to come around the corner of the house and start taking pictures. I did not even know that she was there. She had just heard me pinpointing the target and decided to come watch to see what I found. We drove 18 hours from KS to NY to see family on vacation. Let me tell you this has made this vacation memorable for both of us.

well my luck didn't hold up, after spending an hour at the old haunted house I only had 2 clad quarters 2 1978 pennies and 2 wheaties. Oh well tomorrow is another day.
