Hello Terry!

This looks like a marble that was in a house fire. I don't think there is much any way to determine a maker with the damage on it. I have found a few similar while detecting old home sites where the house is gone but the relics remain.
 

Thank you, that does make sense. Can you tell how old it may be?
 

Not really. I mean, white based swirls were common through the 20s or so and up to the 50s and 60s, but the later swirls were cheaper made and the color was on the outside of the marble, not running through the base like yours. So... if I was making bets on it, I'd say this one was 1930s or 1940s.
