Cant give you a type but looks pretty old to me.
 

I'm not sure what that it is. It's a really nice piece though and I love the material. I'm wanting to call it a Hopewell piece for some reason but I really don't have any idea. Is that a creek find?
 

Yes its a creek find, it may be a hopewell period artifact. Being what appears to be heat treated burlington that pretty much takes away anything before late archaic so woodland is more likely than anything before. Those flute appearing thinning channels sure are cool though. It has nice flaking but trying to capture it with a camera isnt easy. heres some older pics of it.

It might be Apple Creek related. Kind of has that look.
