ID these and uses for them?

Found these two rocks and I'm not sure what the smaller one is, but the larger one is chert I think. I would like to do something with them, but not sure what.

The smaller one might be quartz. The larger, granite? Would need a better pic, more close up.

Use them for landscaping? Might be nice beside a little frog pond.
