Out of 10 days visiting the kids, I managed 4 days of exploring in the Boise Ntl. Forest. Beautiful country down there but so many campers on the rivers that it was hard to find a spot to pan a little. Came home with good memories and a few small specks of yellow.
lot's of quartz and other cool rocks in the classifier.

Not much gold in the pan.

Big Indian head rock.

Little Indian head rock.

Old Doniphan mine site.

The pit....a lot of mineralized rock here.
Drove up to a mining ghost town named Rocky Bar. Only a few old buildings still standing.
The Saloon with 3 bars still in there. Must have been a busy place!

The safe out back.

Big iron door from another secure vault.

The house next door. A peak in the windows

across the road. Not much left of the insides.

Another back in the brush. It that was too swampy to get to it.

Other misc. abandoned things along the way.

Historic sites everywhere along and around hwy 20.

And something unexpected along the back road to Mt. Home.

Had a great time and can't wait till next year. Maybe try to plan for spring when it's cooler and less people to get in the way.....and a lot more exploring!!!!!!
