Found this in an area that dates back to the 1800's. I believe it some sort of collar, hat or tie clip, but not 100% sure. It has a marking underneath Sterling which I would think would make it easy to identify at least a time line, however I have had no luck. Anyone have any further info on what it is, or more so, when it is from? Any help would be great.. Thanks,

Looks like a cufflink to me . The teeth would hold it in place so it would not get lost . Age I have no idea . Nice find . 81 on the pro ?

Looks like a cuff link to me. Men & women both used them 100 yrs ago. Nice find. Good luck.

@1942 Merc. Thanks. I believe it was right around 81 - 83 if memory serves me correct. It wasn't very deep and it was near several large Oak trees.

Clip on earring perhaps?
I just don't see it working as a cuff link.
