I found this today in a bean field at an old house site in Iowa. It appears to be a mortar and my best guess would be from WW2. It's about 8" long and has a hole in the nose and tail. And just guessing about five lbs. I haven't been able to find any matches for it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks creskol, I think you've got it. It must be the MK-43 was made of lead-antimony, because I thought it looked to be made out of a lead alloy, and I believe it weighs more than 3 pounds.
