You buy em. I have the worst luck finding any cool coins. I am not sure how some of you guys find so many. I wanted to have a collection off all the coppers the US has produced. So I am in process of buying them for a display, and of course hope that I can still find them to, say that I did. Here are the ones I have so far.

Good collection bud, it all depends on where ur at geographically on what you can and will find. I have traveled with my bro across the country and you get into places that were highly active and find nothing or you go where population is under 500 and find some amazing coins. Remember if you go to a low population town that means that's less likely someone has sponged out a certain spot. Just do like we did. Say 100000 people live in a town that gives 100 people a metal detector well ur SOL. Where as 500 people in a town may have 5. Just always think of the numbers.

Neat way of looking at it. I have a feeling where I am located in NC, that the area was so poor, that people were really penny pinchers and held on to what they had.

Looks like your adding to your collection very nicely.

You do know the Indian Cent, the last coin shown is an error coin? It's off center a bit.

Wealthy plantation owners and other money people used to leave the flatland and go to the mountains in the summer to escape the heat and malaria. The coins are there if you research and find those old resort destinations. Best of luck.

I did notice that. Glad you did to. Need to see if it has any additional value.

There are some resorts like that around here. Friend of mine has us a permission of one that might fit that bill. Originally a log cabin built in 1850 or so, a family member bought the property and built a 50 room hotel around it in 1905.

Tons of old resorts here in Arkansas. Matter fact one is 5 minutes from my house that is all grown up in woods now. And 2 others are an hour in the opposite direction.

research is the key. you can be the best detectorist in the world and still find nothing if you don't do the research.
