Two weeks ago in this tiny park near the ocean near Highway One I dug out a merc and a SLQ. Today I went back to give it another try. I did't think much
would be left after my first day there, but I was wrong. 20 minutes into today's hunt I dug out a 1900-P barber dime. It was very shallow, only one inch on
a slope. It might have been washed down. Working my way to the south side another shallow silver coin was recovered, this one was a 1944-D 20 centavo
coin from the Philippines, it's bigger than a dime, but smaller than a quarter. These coins have the same silver composition as the US ones. Also dug were
a couple of wheaties. It's so easy to miss a good target, glad I went back.
