Does anyone collect Ike's? I thought I saw a post on this recently. I could not locate it. I got $40.00 worth today. None are silver that I could tell. Most had no mintmark or a "D." Should I dump or should I keep? Red Book ordered Saturday. Online, I viewed Ike's at $1.15 each. Not worth the gas.

Keep them and spread them around town. Waiters/Waitresses are befuddled by them being that many were born after the last Ike was minted. Some are amazed by the sheer size. I always tell them to pass them onto to a niece or a nephew as they will be the coolest Aunt/Uncle around. Or save them for their own children. There was small roadside cafe where I stopped to eat lunch. The waitress certainly knew what they were as she was probably older than I, but her son was there waiting until his mom got off work. She promptly gave the Ikes to her son. His eyes lit up as if he was given gold. Nice to know that a simple coin could have such meaning.

Cool idea. Gets me to thinking . . . hmmm . . . might give those to some of our kids at school who earn straight A's.
