IL Creek 10/31/13

We have been in a drought for a long while. We went to a creek near by and noticed from the bridge that the creek was backed up a bit. Upon further investigation which required our rubber boots. We found this. Beyond this point was lots of gravel showing. We came up with a nice piece for the IL pottery case. Man it has been a long time since we found anything. Nice pottery Find! Looks like a flood debris dam helped create some nice gravel bars.

Nice. Looks like the beaver dams I have been tearing out. The area looks rich with pottery showing.

Those pesty beavers! They dam up the creeks here also. Id like to tear one out where I hunt at but I keep forgetting to ask if it is ok to do it. Good looking piece of pottery
