I bounced around town today looking for some old dirt, got the ok at a 1930’s house, lucky to find more clad than trash, but after a few hours I tapped out, too hot and dry for my liking.
On my way home I pass by Gary’s place.
I’ve beat the snot out of this place going on 3 years now, there ain’t nothing left, or so I thought.
He’s got this giant Poinciana tree in the back, surrounded by thick mothers tongue plants, never imagined he would cut it down and clear it out.
So I stopped and swung the coil for a few minutes, found a clad quarter, some trash, and then I figured after I dug the nickel signal I’d be done.
It wasn’t a nickel.
A stomped and smoked, crunched up ring.... wait a minute, no way....
So yea, it’s kinda brittle, broke apart when I got frisky with it, but sure enough, marked 10K.
I’m guessing it’s about $30 melt, maybe a bit more...I’ll hold it till the end of the year and scrap it.
