Illinois Hunters--Shed Light on Sparks Business College Ring

I've had this sterling silver class ring from Sparks Business College in my collection since I uncovered it on Columbus AFB, MS in 1976 with my old trusty Whites metal detector I purchased from Sears. I know the college is or was located in Illinois. The stone is missing and there are no initials on it to help identify the owner. It is dated 1908 which could mean the year the school opened, the date the owner graduated the school, or perhaps both. I did find the college's website and tried calling the phone number listed but the line was no longer in service which leads me to think the place is now closed. Just wondering if anyone familiar with Sparks can tell me more about it. Thanks!
