I'm Back!!

Hey ya everyone, Just picked up my first box of nickels on a whim. really not suppose to picking up anything heavier than a can of soup but I've been carrying groceries and bags of ice for my mom for the past 2 weeks. No one else to help me, so I do it myself. Well I went through the box and got to the last 5 rolls. I didn't even care if I found something. Just going through the coins was enough for me. But I found a 1943 P war Nickel. Not bad. I'll take it. Wednesday I go into the radiologist to get my MRI for cancer treatment and to watch a video about the side effects of radiation treatment and chemo. I ain't going down without a fight. I got too many books and coins to collect.

Also on a sidenote what website is the best to get the numistic value of Morgan dollars. I have a 1921, 1880, 1879, 1899-O, 1899-O, and a 1890. I also have a 1921 peace dollar but I am more curious about the morgans after getting a huge wave of missing my dad. we use to go to coin shows together. I will look at his coins later. Right now I want to find out about mine. If anyone can shoot me a good website to check prices, let me know.

Thanks a bunch.
Sincerely, GarouLady

The 1921 Peace is a Key Date; 1 million minted. I'm sure someone can fill you in on the Morgans. 1921 Morgans (any mint mark) are common.

I just coinstudy.com as a reference for what years are supposed to be worth more. The Morgan's look all like common dates but as Boris said, that 1921 peace is a great date

Yeah, I was going through my coin collection and I have some older buffalos that I bought as a teenager. I have various austrailian silver endowed coins, old indian cents. I have a 1899 and 1889, 1893 indian heads that I bought for 1.25 went I was a teen. Now at 37 I look at them with different eyes. I just wanted a ballpark prices for my morgans.

Hey GarouLady, stay strong and don't let the cancer win!
we would need to see pictures of your coins really to give you a value, but the important one is the 1921 peace dollar, is it possible to get a picture of that front and back to us? it could be worth a few hundred dollars!

Glad to see you posting again. Stay strong!

You've already gotten great advice regarding your silver dollars; check out that '21 Peace. Handle it carefully, too.

Drats! I thought I had a 1921 peace dollar. it's a 1922. I do have a 1921 morgan though. That's depressing. I thought I had a valuable indian head and found out that it was the O mint mark, not the P. Bummer. Oh well, my three favorite coins don't have any silver in them. One is my 1971 quarter that is missing the copper in it and its bendable. The other is my 1878 Traverse City Michigan masonic penny and my 1844 Bank of Montreal Canada half penny with a hole in the top.

GarouLady - sorry to hear you have to fight the cancer! I know quite a few who have won the battle and being a tough minded will help you a lot. As for coin info I use PCGS Coin Price Guide: The Industry Standard for US Coin Values quite often.

Take care and keep up on the CRH - maybe get a dolly for wheeling boxes in and out of the bank.

Can you post a picture of the 1971 missing copper quarter?
