I'm feeling compelled..........
I just found out about gatorboys one week suspension, I told him next time try harder. I missed that thread somehow and just read it and wasn't surprised to see my name being victimized. It's true we are always hurt by the ones we love. I thought we were all pals. Anyway I felt compelled to stand up for myself in response to a statement made about how I led newbies to believe their geofacts were artifacts. I never once claimed (that I know of) to be positive about anyones finds being artifacts if i did it was probably in a joking way and if I wasn't joking then I had a belief that so and sos find could possibly be an artifact. I've hunted a long time not as long as some but over 25 years. I know a worked pc when i see it in person. Sometimes from photos you can't see every aspect of a pc. So I have often encouraged folks to not discount a rock because steve or larson or etc sorry to single you fellas out ...says its not an artifact. If anyone should know that indians used about everything in their surroundings it should be us the ones that have hunted for quite a while. Therefore we should know that just looking at a small photo without closups of areas that have possible polish on them and we tell that person its a geofact it teaches that person not to investigate further in the meantime learning. Plus I make mistakes sometimes too and look at a photo too fast like I did with a pc someone posted the other day that at a quik glance seemed like it could have been a broken roller pestle, I just assumed the person was knowledgeable and knew it was worked...steve replied with his wasnt altered by man bit i think and i looked at it again and yeah it wasn't pecked and I felt like an idiot. Not because I was wrong or anything it was just that STEVE was right. That really bothered me.
Point is I didn't tell anyone they had genuine artifacts on purpose for kicks or to be stupid.
