I posted this coin in the today's finds section a few months back. Was dug in a pasture, along a spring, we found 6-7 other colonial coins around it, mostly brittish. Except for a 1796 I believe capped bust half cent.

Had no idea of the rarity of this coin at the time, but researched it when I got home. One of my best finds to date. 1804 dropped bust dime, only 8,265 were minted, and very few are known, or have been graded in the past. The coin is not perfect but for being a 220 year old silver coin I think shees beautiful. My buddy and I are sending some coins out together, he is awaiting for the paperwork to come in the mail, as neither of us has ever sent coins to be graded.

You better follow up when you find out whether it's good, bad or ugly...! I truly wish ya the best sir..!

I was looking on the internet to see what mite be on there as far as these coins, to get an idea of what the different grades mite look like.

I understand that condition is everything when it comes to coins, not that I have any plans on selling, but it never hurts to know what you have. I found one that actually sold recently, October 2nd to be exact. And I was actually surprised at the grade it recieved, very good details and bent it says.

Here are a couple better pics of the same coin, not sure why it looks like copper in the 1st 2 pics.

That’s a really good find! I’ll make a guess that your coin will grade VG-8. If so, that would be about $7K.
I cropped your pics for a better look.
