I'm going to Franklin County NC is there any sites there that will let you dig?

I'm camping in Franklin NC this spring. I need to know of any sites that will let you dig for gems. I don't want to sift buckets if i don't have to. Anyone been down there and had a look around?

Most of the streams near a gem mine have tons of material in them that they don't want you to know about, because if it's not posted..... it's free.

On my last trip i found two coffee cups full of sapphires and rubies, "at no charge"

Also if you in a stream the material is already washed, all you have to do is sort and pick
