I'm guessing this is a thick, fossilized bone.

I found this at the bottom of a box of junk at the Goodwill ‘graveyard’ here in Florida. It is approx. 4.5 inches in length by 4.5 inches in circumference and weighs almost 7 oz. It feels like stone but I think it might be an old fossilized bone. It appears to have had a porous core. What is used to be a viable part of is anyones guess. Any feedback?

whale rib would be my first guess. I find them all sizes here diving. Sometimes the have feeding scars gouged into them where large shrks like megalodons gnawed at them.
