..or at least she thought she was.

I was standing out on our back porch, just enjoying the afternoon
when I noticed something that looked out of place about 50' up one
of the big cedars. Do ya see 'em?

Must have had some pretty good room in that spot:

Nice family time if there's more than one.
Beautiful trees.

Not sure if there is more than one in there. Looked some more
yesterday, but didn't see any other movement. Weather went
to crap today (welcome to the Pacific NW) and I didn't get out
to see.

This is an interesting time, as the mama coons only get out to eat
and get water when they have an opportunity, and for many of them
(right now) that's midday. Rest of the year they are primarily nocturnal
critters.

If ya see a tree with the bark all scratched up on one side, starting at the
base, that's probably a tree coons are inhabiting.

Nice pictures love the raccoon..,if you see them around in the daytime be careful as it may be sick

Thanks Bill, but none of the coons around my area are sick.
Some of the coons re coming out in the daytime simply because
that's when they can get away from the babies for a bit, grab
a bit of chow and get a good drink. If mama gets no food or
water she can't make milk for the kids.

Seen this same behavior repeated many times over the years.
As the kids get bigger, one coon in particular will even take a
nap on my porch...just to get a break from the little ones. :laughing7:

I saw the coon. Lots of those critters around here. I see more about 5:30 in the morning.
I agree the trees look very nice.
