I found this in the middle of a 17 acre field (old farmstead) about 6" down this morning. Nothing else was near it. It's thin but sturdy, and has 2 parallel lines in the middle of it. It looks like it may have been painted, as there are wear marks where some type of coating was on it. :dontknow:

Maybe some kind of fraternal organization ID card?

Although I didn't find any shaped like yours...

I'm more inclined to think it's a nameplate off a motor or other equipment. The raised areas are tor stamping the model number, serial number voltage and such. With that said, most nameplates had mounting holes, but some were glued of soldered on also. You might need to clean it up and see what's written on it to solve for sure.

Thanks vhs. Any suggestions for cleaning it up without removing any potential wording or numbers?

Soak it in apple cider vinegar for two days, then use a soft toothbrush. :skullflag:

Put in a tablespoon of mint flavored listerine for the after gargle!

This reminds me of a fishing license but it would have a pin back
