In dire need of some insider info

... I need to know the best most efficient way of cleaning paydirt that is filled with clay . I sluiced for several hours and brought home buckets of pay dirt but even the stuff that came out of my sluice is still full of clay. Is there a special cleaner or soap I can use that might dissolve the clay.
