In Situ...Preform??

Here is a pic of what I think is a Preform or a blank that I found on Sat. I was walking back to the car after 4 hrs of finding nothing but flint chips in a creek & came up on this. I't's very strange but some of the times I find stuff when I'm getting ready to leave a site!

Looks like half a preform. I always find stuff right after I tell myself to leave too. Then I end up staying longer and find nothing else.

Thanks that's what I thought it was.I'm no good @ I'ding stuff though!
I would have gone back to the creek to look but my family had plans & I had already stayed to the absolute last min. so it's best not 2 push my luck...u know!

the end is kinda serrated but I've shown stuff I thought was a blade & have been told it's a preform...What would make it either or?

The material looks like Kansas Flint Hills Permian chert.

I believe you made the right call, a blank or possibly a large preform.
