One of my buddies was going through a bunch of his grandparents old stuff and found something he wanted to give to me. An 1855 $1 good coin set into a pendant. By far the coolest gift I’ve gotten from a friend.

Then to top off my day, I went through the change in my pocket like I do every day and found something shocking.

A 1901 Indian head penny!

What a gift, you obviously mean a lot to your friend.

Do you mean you frequently find things better than a 1901 Indian in your pocket?

Forget your friend I want your pants! LOL I mean I just want the contents of them... Ha ha

Way to go on an awesome coin day!

Nice friend. Ive been looking at $1 coins in pendants lately as a gift to myself and cant find any south of $200. Merry Christmas to you!

wow. my friends just borrow stuff and never bring it back

Really nice buddy! How cool is that to find an IHP in pocket change, my Best has been a few silver Rosie’s and some wheats but now that I know that an IHP is in the realm of possibility I am headed out to buy a pack of gum!!!

WOW! Not sure if my "pride" would allow me to receive a gold coin in a necklace as a gift. That's just awesome! I believe I actually got an Indian Head Cent in my pocket change as a young'un from the local 5 & dime store back in the mid 60's. Since then I don't remember having seen one. Darn good day of treasure hunting without digging a single plug.:headbang:

I’ve been trying to figure out how much the gold coin is worth and can’t find anything consistent. Seems that these are a rarity these days. Crazy that my buddy gave me an heirloom like this. I felt guilty taking it but he said He would rather somebody wear it and cherish it than have it go to the pawn shop with the rest of the gold jewelry. He said it was perfect for me because I love coins and collect them. This is literally the coolest gift I have ever gotten especially because it’s one of the coins and dates I wanted to have in my collection. These golden dollars are the perfect size for a pendant.
