I don't know if I am breaking any rules by posting a link, but here is a story in the Daily Mail of an old Pre-Revolutionary War fort turned in a home hundreds of years ago. When the new owner, after much research, took a crow bar to the plaster walls, you won't believe everything he found. Amazing pics and story.

Now that’s amazing. Just wow.

Very, very nice. One of my friends has a farm nearby. He also took off just a little of the interior siding and there is an inscription "George Washington 1773" engraved on the old oak or chestnut beam. Washington rode through the area that year.
