Ours is rising also over 20 cents. Oil was 40 some $ a barrel now I think they said was around 50$.

I just hope it last for a while! i thought my Taxi Cab business was gonna go under when it got up to $4.00 +!!

I started driving right after driver's training in High School, in 1966, heck I was huntin' for 6 years prior . I bought my first car for $100.00, I saved all my money from shopping news route and what I got 'tectin' (silver and wheats) bought a 1962 Ford Fairelane, 4 door, 221c.i. V-8. Gas was 35 cents a gallon, cigs 30 cents pack (but didn't smoke then) Never drank, and still don't! When the gas wars came to town, there were two stations duking it out, I filled my 10 gallon tank for 17 cents a gallon. I was never home after school, I was either working or fishing, or detectin', I actually got bored diggin' modern wheats and silver . If only I had a little foresight . But I did manage to save all bent and slider silver, as the stores wouldn't accept most and neither would vending machines (never thought about smackin' 'em with a hammer) Then I cashed in, in 1979 when silver was super high. , I culled $120.00 face value in silver, and 5 10kt. class rings, and took them to a smelter, and got a check for $4800.00 then bought a 1971 Chevelle 396 SS. I used to love that gas guzzler, would pass anything but a gas station . Gas at that time was 56 cents a gallon ( I think )? Whoever started this trip down memory lane, THANKS! ......NGE

Lowest I have seen around here is $1.56

It's been interesting how the price for gas will differ around the city. When gas was above $4.00 gal. just about every station in town (Salt Lake City) was within 3 cents of each other. Now I can drive 20 blocks and see as much as 20 cents difference. Makes one doubt the stories they tell you how and who sets the price on a gallon of gas. I paid $1.32 a few days ago.

Just in the last 48 hours the price per gallon went from $1.35 to $1.59 ! It took about three weeks to go the other way. I'm not sure how the gas distributors can justify a .24 cent jump and still sleep at night?
