Well I dont ever hear of people interested in Indian artifacts like they are towards civil war relicts ? I know our family land was home to a cherokee Indian tribe. We have had people come and do studies on our land . One guy said we have a indian burial ground on the property. I know growing up We used to find pottery and a ton of arrow heads. My cousin found a entire pottery bowl. I know when I was 11 years old i was digging a hole near my dad and I found several huge pieces of pottery and I found a Tomahawk. My dad found part to a pipe and a fish hook made out of bone. I know of two places on the land that has even more pottery with designs on it but I have not tried looking for it in over 20 years We found flat stones where they ground corn on and all the different kinds of arrow heads. We are right on the etowah river and right up the river from us you can still see a old indian fish trap and so many people have no idea what it is when they float down the river. But back to my question so is it because its harder to find or because it has no value ? I know I used to love to find pottery.
