Found a 1863 IH that is carved on the back. It says " brovers hotel/ north st. Louis mo." with a bulls head in the center the detail is tough to read. Any thoughts?

Can't help with an I.D, but I can say that's a great find! Congrats and HH!

Looks like a token! Very cool find! I'd try to restore it a bit if you can.

Really cool find. I'd have to say token as I've never come across that variation in any of my coin books, and it seems the link you provided lists it as one as well. Really unique. Congrats.

What you have is a Civil War token! Pretty rare too 9-14 known

Seriously , 9-14 known ! Rare indeed - dare I say valuable ?
I am interested in how these tokens were made/minted Were they using a genuine coin , and restriking one side ?
