I found this point in a creek that has been producing 20 million year old shark teeth and bone any idea on what kind of knife or blade this is and how old it is? I sent a pic to a freind of mine that says he thinks its a knife but doesnt know what kind of how old, any help guys and girls? From what I hear its not uncommon to find points in this creek.

It is very large, but I think the shape is Woodland.

This is a quote from another forum but he is still not sure

" With what appears to be beveling along the blade edges, I would lean to the Archaic time period. My best guess would be Kirk Blade, Cobbs, or some late Stanfield form. Not that familiar with NC artifact pricing, but I would say $350-$450"

The price tag is probably that nice because this is a BIG point in good shape. So we're talking $100 per inch, not $1,000 per inch--but that's still a great point. Also hard to find ones that big without some sort of damage to them.

Very good find!
