I am hoping that someone could help identify the following piece of pottery.

I found this along the creek in Langhorne, Pennsylvania along the Neshaminy Creek. I often find old pottery and was hoping that it may actually be a piece of Indian pottery. It is approximately 2"x3"

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Jim

It looks like stone to me so if it is actually a piece of Pottery it is more than likely historic and not Indian.

Thanks for the information. It is definitely man-made and not made of stone. It seems to be a thin clay with the pattern being very specific.

Is there something else I can describe that might help with the ID for this?

Thank you.

What is up with those holes or are they indentions?

If I had taken a photo from a lesser angle, you could probably see better that they are actually raised above the main surface... kind of like some sort of "beetle" design around it. There are no holes in it.
