I posted my finds from my most recent trip to one of my IW era permissions a few weeks ago. The sword belt plate I found was pretty bent up so I sent it off to JP Hunts Restorations to have him work on it. I got it back today, along with another mangled piece that I wasn't sure he could restore. I knew what the second piece was, but it had some pretty tight bends on the brass and I expected it would snap when they were straightened. Surprisingly, he was able to restore that piece as well. Its the quatrefoil piece that fits underneath the socket that holds the horse tail plume on a Model 1872 Dress Helmet. I've included a photo of the dress helmet for clarification. I also added a photo of my recent plate alongside a US belt plate I found at the same location about 3 years ago. I'm pleased to add these items to my collection.
