What do President Jimmy Carter, singer Cyndi Lauper, Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, and explorer Admiral Byrd have in common?

They all autographed books (or in Cyndi's case, a CD) that I found for sale in thrift shops.

When you live up north and cold weather stops your ground digging, there are other ways to treasure-hunt.

This show tells you the secrets of finding valuable autographs where nobody would expect them to be - on the bookshelves of Goodwill and Salvation Army stores.

Listen at In the Corner with Dan Hughes.

During the snowy winter months, I walk a couple miles a day inside the local mall. I usually find a few cents every time but my bonanza finds there have included a $100 bill and a gold cross.

Susan, the Mall of the Americas? I'd love to visit that mall!

I was born in Mpls, and loved going back in the summers to visit my cousins (in Fridley). But all they had in those days was Dayton's!
