Today was day 3 of learning my new Infinium in the water. It's presenting some unique challenges in the surf.
Anyhow, I was hunting in the shallow surf when a crying lady came up to me about a missing necklace. She said she took it off so as not to loose it and laid it on the blanket. Well, when she go up and shook the blanket... well...
It was a very fine gold chain with a tiny star on the end and one small diamond. I found 70 cents while looking and was getting a very fain whisper, and I mean faint whisper with the Infinium over a particular part of the sand. I would work the area and look for the whisper and not hear it again. Coming back to the area I would catch just a hint of a target while moving the coil. I was getting near something in the sand, but could not pinpoint it.
The whisper would only happen as I was on a swing with the target near the tip of the coil, not centered. Anyhow, we finally visually spotted the chain while kicking sand about. She started to cry some more and vowed to never bring this necklace to the beach again.
She was by the way also wearing a gold ankle chain, earrings, a gold toe ring and some finger rings.
I set the chain on the sand and worked the gold chain visually with the coil. Nothing but a whisper near the tip... I was very disappointed in the Infinium. I thought it would do a little better on the fine gold.
Anyhow, she got the necklace back and I made 70 cents. No photo of the necklace as I don't carry a camera in the surf, but here is the other junk.
St. Pete beach, was a nice day to hunt.
