Info on bird point

Found this by accident shooting a pellet rifle with my kid on a creek sandbar after some recent flooding. Does it look like it had a small stem broke off at base or do you think it was made that way ? From Illinois.

It doesn't really look like there is an obvious break there. Great point from a super material you stumbled on to.

Hard to see the base due to the pic on the brown wood. Nice either way.
