Ink holder

This was found at old permission, where I found 4 1/4 reale from 1833 to 1846 I also found a copper powder flask, I was wondering if any one knows what this is

Yup , I'm think used for ink bottle for a feather pen

I've never seen anything like it meant to hold an ink bottle, I would be shocked if that was what it was used for...
