Instructions needed for old Heathkit Detector

Someone brought me an old Heathkit GD-1190 cointracker, he claimed it wasn't working. But after fooling around with it for awhile, I concluded that it does work.... it's just very tricky to tune. It's an old (circa 1970?) unit and the circuitry is quite primitive, it has a tune button and a tuning control which are supposed to be used together somehow. Does anyone have an instruction manual for this, or can at least give me some detailed instructions on how to run it?
