Intaglio!! Please help me identify?

I found this item on an early 1800s farm in Nova Scotia Canada. I've never seen one before. It's silver around the edge and some sort of stone in middle, it's a light purple colour, a Canadian dime for scale. Can anyone help? Please.

You need something for size reference. Looks like it could be wax seal?
 

you would have to look long and hard for another wax seal nicer than that!

dates vary , yours could be early 1800s late Georgian era

Looks like an early 1800's bit of fob watch bling. Although a based on a wax seal, it was probably never used as such.

Looks somewhat Anglo Saxon to me. I guess that would be possible.
