found about an acre of desert that has been used as a dumping area for over a hundred years so I started poking around a little, a shovel here and a shovel there. the gun parts are so bad that I won't even try to clean them, real or not but neat, the bottles are nice but not really that old(screw tops), now the ball is a different story, it weighs 4.5lbs and is 11 in. in circumference, I found another one half that size a few years ago in an area that did have a fort with cavalry 70 mi. north of me, however I wouldn't or couldn't say that either one of the balls are cannon balls.judging from the condition of them I think maybe they are iron mill balls used to crush ore, any thoughts?
