Note: An order dated May 19, 1831 was received by Scovills for "5 groce of buttons to be made in two sizes and to have "CLAY" on the collar or under," For further details see The National Button Bulletin, November 1950, pp. 356-7.

Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments and welcoming us to tnet. My hunting buddy (my 11 year old son) and I live in Delaware. I agree with fishstick this is a great site with a ton of collective knowledge. I have been in the hobbie for a long time and watched tnet for about a year but never registered now I'm glad I did. Please bear with us as we learn how this site works.

It takes a little adjustment.

By the way that button with some lemon juice & a cotton bud will clean up great. Just use water after to rinse off & then dry.

Well that is a fine Political button, cuff size examples are quite rare, though these are well made buttons. Congrats on the find.

Just curios...this says right facing bust, and the one posted here is facing left. Mistake in the book or is this a variation?
