Hey hey diggers!
Out detecting and distancing as we all should.
I got a couple of interesting finds yesterday to share with you, first, an interesting Irish button that dates back to the 1840s that someone took with them from Ireland long ago, and second, a piece of a silver mechanical pencil.

Heres a link to some history..https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/irish-loyal-national-repeal-269379093

And a little piece from a perpetual calendar pencil.
Also dates early 1800s..thanks to nhbenz for a id

Hope everyone can get out and enjoy some detecting in the nicer days ahead

Sweet button!!! Congrats!!!

Those are stellar finds...what does the political button say around the edges? Oh , "God Save the Queen" " Repeal of the union" I think...brilliant find! And a perpetual calendar etched on a pencil to boot! Those are keepers.

Very cool button. :icon_thumleft:

Very interesting, indeed. I never heard of a calendar pencil. There are some pricey vintage pencils out there. Amazing. Congratulations on your unique finds!

That pencil piece is very cool...have never seen such a thing!
