This looks to be a piece of what is called - Carpet Rock-
I've read a few articles and there is not a great consensus on exactly how they are formed.
The main idea is that they are sandstone and quartz formations that have differential weathering.
Some have higher iron content and sometimes bleed red(rust).

They can be very ornate with many layers and twists.

I've seen them in quite a few places. There's a bunch in Arkansas state parks that get walked on all the time.
Some in Texas and Oklahoma.

Petit Jean State Park Down near the bottom is a good picture.

You may want to go back where it was found and look around for an actual formation.

Yes it does. It has the weight that you would expect a rock of that size to have. It was found in a wooded area in Western Pennsylvania.

Definitely looks hand made. You dont see a perfect triangle with another perfect triangle cut into the middle found in nature...

The pic in post #9 shows a side view; enlarging shows the hole on the right side. But the side view has a sedimentary stripe running vertically in the pic. Just another interesting feature. 🤓

Tombstone makers would have equipment that could carve rock like that. That initial thought led to the idea that it could be part of a cemetery memorial.
