Interesting Washington/Oregon Pink Amethyst colored Agate

Found it on a Puget Sound, Washington beach. But this pink (not red carnelian) agate must have been carried here from a small site in eastern Oregon.

Whatever they made it must of been a real beauty. That is just a piece of the stone they were chipping away. Maybe you can find the rest of the finished piece on your next trip.

That is common agate found throughout the Washington and Oregon Cascades. How much do you want? That type of agate is truly bountiful for those willing to look.

This is a rare pink agate and not a common carnelian (red) agate. I've been rockhounding in Washington and Oregon for almost 50 years. Found, seen, sold many thousands of agates. The only area with this pink amethyst color is a small site in eastern Oregon a couple hundred miles away. BTW, the Washington Cascades is a poor producer of red (carnelian) agates compared with the lowlands...

I would like a example of this type you are talking about. Here we have to heat treat the local agates real slow to get a red or pink. PM me.
