Hello everyone,

Buckle Boy, Rodeo Recon, my Fiancee and I got out to some old house sites today. I really had not found anything else worth posting but this old watch fob/token. We were about to head home for the night and we decided to check out an old house on the way back. This token read 1c/10c and was about 4 inches down. It reads "50c will open a one dollar savings account with us subject to savings bank rules. We pay compound interest ACT AT ONCE" and on the other side "The Farmers Bank & Trust Co. Gerogetown, KY" "Capital $105,000 Surplus and Profits $85,000". The hole for the fob looks to have primitavely "cut" into this piece. It looks to have been a token made into a watch fob. I will post more pictures once it has been properly cleaned. Please let me know what you think. Thanks and HH!

I think you're right, Hound. But it's a cool piece, whether token or fob.

I agree, it looks like a token made into a fob.
Still a neat find.

"Capital $105,000 Surplus and Profits $85,000".

I wonder what year that was. lol :D ;D :D ;D

Hello again everyone, here are the pictures of the cleaned token/fob. Does anyone have any clue when this piece may have been made? Thanks again and HH!

That cleaned up well! Congrats on that neat item. It was a REAL pleasure to hunt with you today. You might want to post this again in the Kentucky section. There isn't much activity there, but this would stay at the top of the board for a while, and someone might know something about the bank and its dates of operation.

Regards,

Buckleboy
