International CRH'ers

Hi all, I was just wondering if anybody on this forum under CRH section does coin roll hunt in countries other than America and Canada.

It would be interesting to see what other countries you could find goodies in concerning coin rolls.

Merry Christmas,

Re: Foreign CRH'ers

From what I understand CRHing can still be done in switzerland, seeing as they are still using the franc and they stayed away from that dreadful euro. I don't believe anyone here is from switzerland but I would certainly enjoy CRHing over there.

from what I gather, there is a sweedish member on here who used to crh in america, then moved to switzerland. His name started with a "T", cannot quite remember the rest.

I know america and canada (and switzerland) are of the few countries that did not completely change their currency.

Re: International CRH'ers

I'm traveling in Central America for 6mos-1year and am in El Salvador for awhile now. El Salvador and Panama use US currency/coins, so I have always been going through my change. Pretty hard to CRH here. Oldest coin I've seen so far is just a 1967 Quarter. I have gotten some of the low mintage 2009 nickels that I needed though. HH back in the states :)

Got to second that I was in El Salvador last year and they used US dollars and even gave change in US coins ( all modern junk )

Re: International CRH'ers

Yep, unlikely that there are really any other countries other than the US, Switzerland and Canada that CRHing is possible. Most of Europe has switched to the Euro, most British Colonies along with the UK itself switched to a decimal system in the 1960s, Mexico has gone through more currency revisions and the rest have been hyperinflated to the point of worthlessness (consider for example the Japanese Yen, a coin that used to be the size and thus worth of a silver dollar, now worth about a penny) and changes in composition has brought changes in size.

Re: International CRH'ers

I think Panama had significant change to their coinage as well. I wonder about the Philipines. A teller gave me a silver Philippine coin not too long ago (1940s).

Why go there when you can find this here.

Very nice coin, OLD too.

I am very thankful that our country has not changed the size of our currency making CRH unpredictable on what you could find. ;D
