I guess it's proper to introduce one's self and I apologize for not doing so earlier. I'm Charlie and hail from the Fort Smith area. Most of my activity is gold prospecting related. My website is http://www.arkiegold.com(while it lasts!) where you might learn of a few places to gold prospect in Arkansas but the gold is tiny! It's here though. Actually there is a lot of gold in Arkansas but it's not the kind you might think. Invisible gold in micron or telluride form in various rocks/ores. That's what most of the Spanish mining activities were all about. I've just recently come to understand this and am learning as I go. Good to see so many Arkie's about and hope to meet some in future hunting adventures! Some of you folks are really close so lets get on and find some gold and treasure!

Hello Arkiegold, I just found your post while browsing around.
I'me origionally an Arkie, but have been an 'Okie' for the last 20 years, I am very close to Ft. Smith.
I have an intrest in all kinds of Treasure hunting, including Gold prospecting.
I have some things we could 'talk about', I know one guy who is smeltering Gold from local rock, he has little nuggets,
& is looking for a (backer) in his endevors.

Welcome to the forum, I'll be in touch.

Hey Fossis,

Glad you stopped by. Don't know how much of a backer I would be but I would love to be a helper ;D

Honestly would love to see your buddy's set up and perhaps learn from him. But I know how some are all secret like. Actually I'm about 25 miles South of Fort Smith. Mansfield-Hartford area.

I love hunting fossils too ;D

We will have to 'call ahead', he is totally deaf, & his wife answers the phone, we used 'lip reading', & hand signs, & a 'yellow pad', me being a 'talker', (i've been told), :icon_scratch: used up half a pad of paper during our visit. :tongue3:

Our mines have been 'Reclaimed', & hunting is getting slim, but some still wash out.

Well my wife signs some. I never learned it.

My main interest is seeing some of that ore. Given the proximity there might be some close to home and I have been itching to try this new "Amalgamite Process" of refining from ores. I have some along with a micro furnace but haven't the ore to try it out with yet. Supposed to work on black sand concentrates and ores with the invisible gold.

You can learn about Amalgamite from my website as I'm doing some advertising for the manufacturer.

We can get a 'bucket full ' of black sand at a place I know, when the water isn't too high.
I'll get on your website later & check it out.
He showed me the kind of rock it came from, but I was there to look at his 'Turquoise' at the time, he got the rock from his own property in the mts.
Have you ever tried the 'Gold Genie' a spiral pan run by battery , that might be just the thing to gather 'Black sand'. :icon_scratch:
(Happy Birthday from me too)
